Instructions for Online Presentations

Online Presenters

The following information will help you in creating your online presentation for Research & Creative Achievement Week. Below is a PowerPoint presentation template if you would like to use it. Download the file and add your content. There is also an example of a Prezi presentation. All presentations should be sent to rcawpresentation@ecu.edu before the March 19, 2020 deadline date.

Overview

Once you have submitted your presentation, you will receive email communication with further instructions on the presentation process. Before the week of RCAW, your presentation will be uploaded to a blog page on the RCAW Conference site and you will have the ability to answer questions and address comments on the page from an assigned judge.  You will be required to monitor your online presentation page and respond to questions and/or comments beginning March 30, 2020 through April 1, 2020.

Research Week accepts two options when submitting your online presentation.  Please read both options below and decide which is best for you.

PowerPoint

The first option is to create your presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint.  Your presentation is meant to emulate an in person presentation. It should follow the template posted above and should only include one slide for your main presentation and one slide for your references. All features within PowerPoint are permitted including voice overs. Voice overs are limited to 3 minutes max time. Your file should be no bigger than 15 MB. When submitting your file, please type “Online Presentation” in the subject line of your email along with your name and abstract title in the body of the email with the PowerPoint presentation attached.  If you have any questions with the Online Presentation process, please contact Plummer Nye at nyep@ecu.edu.

Prezi

The other option is to use a software called Prezi. Prezi is a powerful free cloud-based software tool that allows you to add many features to your presentation including motion zoom effects and videos. You can use Prezi for free by setting up an account here http://prezi.com/pricing/ . Please keep in mind that the free option does give Prezi consent to advertise your presentation on their site. When submitting your file, please type “Online Presentation” in the subject line of your email along with your name, abstract title and Prezi presentation link in the body of the email.  If you have any questions with the Online Presentation process, please contact Plummer Nye at nyep@ecu.edu.
