Application/Deadline Notes
You must choose a concentration on the application to be considered. Students applying for assistantships / out-of-state tuition waivers must submit their application by March 1st. August 1st is the deadline for all other students.
May 1st deadline for Music – Education. (1st SS only)

Additional Information
Completed application form, Application fee, Official transcripts for all colleges/universities attended, Three (3) letters of recommendation and Statement of Intent. GRE or MAT scores are only required for Theory, Composition and Music Hist/Lit concentrations. All letters of recommendation must be from former music professors, private teachers, or teaching supervisors.
Composition, Music education, Music history and literature, and Theory concentrations require an additional portfolio submission. All other concentrations require an audition.
Music Education requires a teaching license and resume.
International students must submit qualifying IELTS / TOEFL / DuoLingo scores and official foreign transcript evaluation with qualifying GPA.
Collaborative Piano (formerly Accompanying), Composition, Instrumental conducting, Jazz performance, Keyboard performance specialist and pedagogy, Music Education, Music history and literature, Pedagogy (String or Vocal), Performance (Brass, Organ, Percussion, Piano, Voice, String, or Woodwind), Sacred music (Choral conducting or Organ), Theory, Woodwind specialist
The Pedagogy Suzuki String concentration is undergoing revisions and has temporarily suspended admissions effective fall 2021 for one, possibly two years.
